Big day in movies - of course we have The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, coming out today but there are some other promising PG-13 films that should not be overlooked. I'll hit you with some titles in Friday Flicks. And of course, all week long, KPOI is giving away a pair of tickets to the 3rd annual Rock Against Cancer benefit concert featuring Everclear. If you wanna win those tickets, be sure to listen at 7:20 for the Everclear Word of the Day. Then you might as well keep it locked to KPOI because in my 7:40 hashstash I’m giving away the last pair of passes to “Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor” in 3D on Monday, November 25th, at 7:30 pm at Dole Cannery 18.
Story of the morning - are you familiar with the term, "slabbing?" Or maybe you know it as, "low riding" - its when you let your pants sag below your hips. Well, whatever you wanna call it, a county in Mississippi is putting an end to it by issuing a ban on sagging pants. Anyone caught wearing their pants 3 inches below the hips will be fined $150. I think the hips are a bad starting point. Shouldn't it be 3 inches from the top of the buttcrack? Because that's really where the offense is coming from. I'm talking to you, plumbers. Read more [here] in case you missed it.
