Gonna step back into the 90s as I educate you on some misheard Verve Pipe lyrics. You’ve probably been singing the wrong lyrics since high school but don’t worry, I’ll be setting the record straight in Wrong Wrong Wednesday … that video will be posted below … but make sure you listen up at 7:40 this morning, because I’ve got more passes to the Hana Hou Picture Show Screening of “Big Trouble in Little China,” starring Kurt Russell and Kim Cattrall. That’s going on, Wednesday, November 20th at 10 pm at Consolidated Ward Theatres.

Now for that promised Mondegreen - check out Verve Pipe’s “The Freshmen” video below …

We all had odd nicknames when we started high school, right? Chia Punkarelly was one of ‘em. She probably was into punk music and guess what… she never took advice.

Hawaii was in the national news lately. Sadly, it was for a bittersweet transaction. It will forever be known that the last Blockbuster movie ever rented was in Hawaii. As you may have heard Blockbuster closed their remaining stores over the weekend. The title of the last film to rented … “This is the End” starring Seth Rogen, James Franco and Jonah Hill. Too perfect, right? It’s the end of an era, that’s for sure. No more late fees… no more be kind, rewind. I was horrible at following all those rules. The reason why I had a blockbuster membership in the first place was because my membership got revoked at Video Zone … remember that place? Well there’s no rental fee when it comes to the rock you live on!  Just sayin’.  Read more [here] if you missed it.

As traffic gets worse here in the islands, we’re seeing more and more bicyclists and I say, more power to them. Less cars on the road… plus you get your exercise… it’s a win-win. There’s one drawback… ugly bicycle helmets. It’s rare to see a cool looking bicycle helmet and when you do, that person is still suffering from helmet hair. Well, you’ll be glad to know that there’s a solution… in Europe, anyway. It’s called the invisible bike helmet. It’s a puffy scarf that you wear around your neck and when you get hit, there’s a sensor, similar to an airbag where it inflates what looks like a space helmet around your head. It just pops out from the scarf… it’s pretty incredible. It’s not approved for use in the US yet. Right now it runs for a little over $500. I guess the only drawback now is that you’d have to wear a scarf in Hawaii… and look like those Kaka’ako hipsters. Could be worse, I suppose. Missed my story this morning?  Click [here]
