Happy Monday! I don’t quite know if those two words should go together, but in either case, let’s talk this morning about the top movies at the box office this weekend - and I’m giving away a four pack of passes to the Hana Hou Picture screening of “The Lost Boys” that’s happening on Wednesday, September 18th at Consolidated Ward Theaters. Listen and win at 7:40 this morning!
And this morning, we’re talking about this company taking away employee benefits. No, not talking about medical benefits or pension, but a candy benefit. Say what? Missed my story this morning? Read more [here].
So this weekend it came to my attention that I offended a gang… yes… a gang. Of course I didn’t mean to, as you know, I do standup comedy and I crack all sorts of idiotic comments on the mic. And so I find their gang leader in this bar I was at and apologized and I think i smoothed it over but I’m not sure. But it made me realize that I was very naive to the issue of gang violence still going on in this day and age. People are injured and loved ones are lost. It’s not just on TV and film, it’s a real issue. So I just wanted to take this time to let you know, if you are involved in potential gang violence of course, you can call your local authorities which in our case is HPD… and you can get more info online at the bureau of justice assistance website at www.bja.gov.
